The FILLERS exhibition | Share the Loto- Collection Québec stems from an exploration process of the Loto- Collection Québec , which includes nearly 5,000 works. Some of them are displayed, among other places, at the headquarters of the state-owned company, in its casinos and on the walls of certain ministerial offices.
As part of this exhibition, Loto- Québec and the SAGAMIE Centre asked Julien St-Georges Tremblay to act as curator Following a call for applications, four Quebec artists – Cindy Dumais (Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean), Ryth Kesselring (Montérégie), Gabriel Mondor (Lanaudière) and Douglas Scholes (Montreal) – were chosen to create original works and place them in dialogue with a selection of works from the Loto- Collection. Québec .
The artists and the curator worked together to discover the many nuances of the Loto- Collection Québec Founded in 1979, this collection has, over the years, acquired numerous works enshrined in history while also giving ample space to emerging art. Rich in stylistic and conceptual contrasts, the Loto- Collection Québec is presented in this exhibition as a territory traversed by artists and the curator .
