Manuel Mathieu joins the board of directors and the artistic committee of Adélard
Wednesday, October 7. Frelighsburg , Québec — The Centre Adélard is pleased to announce the appointment of Manuel Mathieu to its board of directors. The artist also joins the association's artistic committee, to which he will contribute his experience and knowledge of the contemporary art world.
Born in Haiti and based in Montreal and Sutton, Manuel Mathieu develops a multidisciplinary practice combining painting, sculpture, and installation. His work explores the links between memory, historical violence, and spiritual legacies. Presented in Canada and internationally, his works are included in several major collections, including those of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the National Gallery of Canada. In 2026, his works were presented at the 61st Venice Biennale.
His international experience and his new roots in the Brome-Missisquoi region are valuable assets for Adélard Within the artistic committee, he will contribute to the orientations and reflections on the programming. Adélard is delighted to be able to count on his vision and commitment to continue his mission of bringing contemporary art and citizens closer together.
